One day...

(all links appear to be invalid nowdays...)

12 October 2005 I got an e-mail from USA...
There was Ken Benson that had bought an old wooden boat - a Koster boat.
And he had found my site about my koster Falken...
Thus he took the chance to get some help to find out the story behind his new "baby".
And that is why I am setting up this page - a try to summarize on my site what has happened and will happens with this project.

So, what about this Koster boat?
This is the first view...

Before Ken took over the boat was taken care of Bruce Elfstrom...
Here is his story...
http://www.woodenboatrescue.org/KOSTER.htm

She had sails from Henån with the class marking K25 and sail number S52.
By this I was able to find out through nice people in Sweden at different places that this had to be
SANG
a modernized Koster, designed by Arvid Laurin 1933 for SegelSällskapet Gullmaren (SSG) as a lottery boat
built by Mr. Carl Andersson at Sundstrandsvik on Orust.

The Yacht Club FRAM (Segelsällskapet FRAM) had a notice about SANG in their magazine KOSTERN 1933.
Mr. Erik Börjesson found it and sent me a copy. I have made a translation from Swedish of the letter and the drawing ... And from the drawing I have expanded the sail plane...

Next...
The Maritime Museum in Stockholm has the drawings for the S.S. Gullmar Lottery Boat 1933...

It is now confirmed that "Sang" was owned by Mr Wilhelm Wretlind. His son Göran Wretlind and his wife Pia has been sailing "Sang" for many years...
The transfer to USA was done after 1980.... by who is unknown at the moment.
The story begun to come to the end...
